Desde determinar objetivos y acciones estratégicas hasta la gestión del día día, llevando a cabo acciones de actualización de producto, así como el desarrollo y evaluación de nuevos proyectos. Conocimiento de políticas y programas de I+D de las diferentes administraciones, con experiencia tanto en la presentación de propuestas de proyectos como en la justificación de los proyectos desarrollados.

    Liderazgo tecnológico: Tiene que tener experiencia contrastada en proyectos de desarrollo de software, en la dirección de los mismos y en la gestión del ciclo de vida completo de estos productos. Debe estar al día sobre las tendencias tecnologías en el ámbito y ser un referente. Debe igualmente conocer bien el mercado así como las tendencias futuras de este.

    Gestión de personas / capacidad relacional: Contará con un equipo de 25 personas, centradas en el desarrollo de producto, que deberá liderar. Por lo tanto, tiene que ser capaz de dirigir personas, evaluar su actividad, generar feedback, desarrollarlas, manteniendo niveles altos de capacitación, motivación y autonomía de estas. Tiene que colaborar y coordinar acciones con otras áreas de la empresa, así como con agentes externos como CCTT y la administración. Deberá tener muy buena capacidad relacional.

    Competencias técnicas: ligadas a la ingeniería del software

    Idiomas: será imprescindible tener un alto dominio de inglés, tanto hablado como escrito. El conocimiento de francés será altamente valorado.

    The aim of this project is to exploit recent advances in polymer chemistry to reinvent classical acrylic polymers for use in additive manufacturing techniques. Within this project we will be trying to advance two scientific aims:

    (1) developing a better understanding of how the rheological properties of dynamic polymers can be adapted for specific materials applications

    (2) tailored synthesis of dynamic polymers for specific additive manufacturing techniques. The project is at the forefront of polymer and materials science and is a highly interdisciplinary involving synthesis, characterization and application of polymers.



    Requisites

    Applicants must have a BSc and MSc in Chemistry (or a related discipline). A background in polymer science is highly desirable.

    Good command of written and spoken English is a must (if preselected, a telephone interview will be carried out before any other appointment is made). The selected candidate is expected to conduct research, write papers, and deliver a PhD thesis.

The allocation of a limited set of resources (ambulances) to a large and random set of services (attention) is obviously a problem that requires mathematical and computational techniques for its analysis and optimization. Some of the more frequent problems are the system saturation, optimal allocation decisions, efficient localization of the bases, optimal transport routes, among others. Since they are, in general, NP-hard problems, heuristic algorithms have been developed for solving them in a reasonable time.

    2. Research Technician in Applied Statistics - Estimation of the distribution of the accumulated cost per patient in the presence of censored data

    This project deals with the estimation of the distribution of the accumulated cost per patient according to diseases, the received medical allowance, etc. The objective is not to estimate the, e.g., average cost, but to estimate the entire distribution. This will allow us to fully characterize the population of interest, which will provide information that we seek to further explore and study in detail. In addition to defining the methods for estimating the accumulated cost per patient, the project aims at defining and automating the workflow that will allow obtaining the data in the appropriate format for the subsequent analyses. In doing so, we seek to allow the routine use of the proposed methodology.

    Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position within the Simulation of Wave Propagation group at BCAM. The project, entitled “Deep Learning Based Inversion with Energy Applications”, deals with Solving inverse problems in computational mechanics using deep learning algorithms with applications to geophysics.      

    The preferred candidate will work in one of the following research areas (depending upon the candidate’s scientific profile):

    Research Area 1 (RA1): Development of Deep Learning Algorithms for Real-Time Inversion. The postdoctoral fellow working on RA1 will be trained on solving inverse problems using Deep Neural Networks (DNNs). Specifically, he/she will improve an existing encoder-decoder Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) by adding residual blocks with a boosting strategy. The implementation will be based on TensorFlow 2.0. The results will be applied geophysical problems.

    Research Area 2 (RA2): Development of Finite Element Methods for generating a training database for Deep Learning algorithms. The postdoctoral fellow working on RA2 will explore various numerical methods such as Proper Generalized Decomposition (PGD), Fourier based strategies, multiscale methods, and Finite Element Methods. Then, starting from our existing in-house finite element simulators, the objective is to develop a numerical method that solves one million two-dimensional (2D) forward problems in eight hours on a computer equipped with four quad-core CPUs.

    •    Applicants must have their PhD preferable in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or related fields.

    Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position within the Modelling and Simulation in Life and Materials Sciences group at BCAM. The project “Predictive metabolic modelling of microbiomes and human metabolism through Monte Carlo sampling” is run in collaboration with the Quantitative Metabolic Modeling group at Berkeley National lab (LBNL).

    Our goal is to produce a predictive model of microbiome and human metabolism by leveraging high performance computing to efficiently sample the full metabolic phase space. For this purpose, we will use a novel Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) Bayesian inference (BI) approach enhanced through Deep Learning.

    Microbiomes (i.e. microbial communities harboured by human beings) are key players in human health: they can produce obesity, decrease autism symptoms or increase athletic performance. Microbiome engineering could replace medical treatment through external drugs by creating tailored engineered microbiotas. However, this requires the ability to predict microbiome behaviour.

    Genome-scale models (GEMS) can provide this predictive power by accounting for all metabolic reactions in an organism genome. We plan to apply novel deep learning methodologies to speed up the traditional Monte Carlo approach used to sample the metabolic space and produce testable predictions.

    A research position in ecoinformatics and modelling of coupled human-environmental systems using a combination of techniques, including agent-based modelling, machine learning and earth observation. The candidate should have a strong background in simulation modelling (process-based and/or agent-based). Experience with machine learning is an asset. We are looking for an individual who can support strategic activities related to integrated data science and collaborative, integrated modeling on the semantic web (semantic meta-modelling). The selected candidates will contribute to the ARIES (ARtificial Intelligence for Ecosystem Services) project powered by the k.LAB software stack, a semantic web infrastructure that uses artificial intelligence to build computational solutions to environmental, policy and sustainability problems. The open source k.LAB software includes client and server components that connect data and models from distributed repositories, guided by machine reasoning over a set of shared ontologies. This technology, based on machine reasoning, machine learning, distributed computing and high-performance, multi-disciplinary and multi-paradigm system modeling, is the flagship product of the Integrated Modelling (IM) Partnership (http://www.integratedmodelling.org) which is expected to serve a growing number of worldwide users (from academia, governments, NGOs and industry) in the years to come.

    Key responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate in building, evaluating and delivering integrated models within the ARIES platform. The OBServ project focuses on pollination as a central piece for the modelling and simulation of agri-systems and biodiversity, but the position will entail multi-disciplinary applications;
    2. Collaborate in building, evaluating and delivering complexity-oriented models of coupled human-environmental systems;
    3. Integrate such models and their results within a holistic, integrated trade-off assessment framework for decision- and policy-making


    Requisites

    Main requirements:

    1. The applicant must have a degree in computer science, ecology, geography, engineering, or other fields of relevance to ecoinformatics. A very strong background in computational modelling is required, along with programming skills (any language and in particular Python, Java, R and Julia).
    2. Familiarity with any of the following methods is an asset: agent-based modelling, network analysis, Bayesian network modelling, system dynamics. Being initiated to ontologies, artificial intelligence, and machine reasoning is desirable. Familiarity with any of the following technologies is an asset: Git, GeoServer, Linux, RESTful web services, openCPU, JSON.
    3. The applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent written and oral command of English is required. An ability to work in teams and experience in the use of collaborative software platforms and distributed version control systems are necessary.

    CIC energiGUNE is looking for an experienced Post-doctoral Researcher to incorporate in the group of Solid state chemical reactions in the thermal energy storage (TES) area.

    The research will be focused on the study of existing and novel chemical reactions and thermochemical cycles for thermal energy storage and fuel production (initial focus on hydrogen production). The final objective of the research is the development of advanced materials and systems that can be implemented in a real application (TES and fuel production in solar power plants and Industrial environment). 

     

     

    The research work will include the identification and selection of promising materials and thermochemical cycles (two-steps and multi-steps), the synthesis of tailor made materials (e.g. mixed oxides), the study of the performances when subjected to repetitive cycles involving different reactions steps (reduction, hydration) and the full thermophysical characterization. The systems studied will also be tested in specially designed laboratory scale prototypes (CIC energiGUNE facilities) to determine the reactivity at a more relevant scale (grams). The candidate will have the chance to work in a multidisciplinary environment composed by Chemists, Physicists and Engineers having the possibility to extend his/her knowledge approaching the research under different points of view.

    The research will be focused on modelling, designing and testing of a lab-scale thermal energy storage prototype, based on innovative latent heat storage technology for industrial processes. The final objective of the research is the development of advanced models and systems that can be implemented in a real industrial application.

     

     

    The research work will include the identification and selection of commercial PCM materials suitable for the application, the development of numerical models for a packed bed configuration, combining phase change in both the PCM and the heat transfer fluid and finally, the design, construction and testing of a lab-scale prototype, aimed to validate and improve the models and technology. The research will be developed in the frame of an industrial project so there will be opportunities to work close to the real application. The candidate will have the chance to work in a multidisciplinary environment composed by chemists, physicists and engineers, having the possibility to extend his/her knowledge approaching the research under different points of view.

    The design and  programming of the softwares of ou machines.



    Requisites

    Knowledge of: EPLAN, PLC Programming ( Twicat Beckhoff, Sysmac Studio Omron, CXONE Omron, Step 7 Siemens.

    Touch Screen progamming.

    PC Programming: Visual Studio ( VB,C#,C+++ ) and Lab-View

    CNC Systems

    Robot programming ( 5 axes )

    Artificial Vision Knowledge: lighting, lenses, cameras.

    3-5 years experience in electronical engineering.

    Availability for travelling.
